Family Dentistry

Our team takes pride in working well with children. We ensure they are happy, but also learn about oral health

It is important for our young ones to learn about oral hygiene early. Our experienced staff know just how to inform your children about good dental habits in a relaxing, happy way.

We maintain a positive atmosphere for children. We believe that around the age of 3 is a good time to start visiting your family dentist. This way, they will begin to learn about proper oral hygiene habits early in life.

Dental Cleanings

It is in good practice to visit your family dentist a couple times a year. These visits provide an additional level of preventative care that cannot be obtained by simply brushing and flossing regularly.

During these appointments, our dental hygienist will clean your teeth by removing tartar build-up. They will also polish the surface of your teeth to remove surface stains. Fluoride treatment is also available for the prevention of cavities.

These appointments are not just about cleaning; they are about maintaining good oral health. Our welcoming staff will check your teeth and gums for any signs of disease such as bone loss and recession.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are a non-invasive sealer that is placed on newly erupted permanent molars. Its primary function is to seal the deep grooves in your child’s growing smile. It helps to prevent cavities during the time they are learning to brush properly.

Nightguards

Nightguards help in the prevention of tooth grinding, jaw clenching and wearing away your tooth enamel. It is a clear custom fit guard that is worn day or night that is recommended when you have signs of foreshortened teeth, flat chewing surfaces or chipping. It prevents further enamel loss by acting as a barrier between your top and bottom teeth. This allows you to wear down the nightguard rather than your losing your protective layer of tooth enamel.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Dental Implants

People lose teeth for many reasons: natural decay, sports injuries or auto accidents to name a few, But there is a solution. Dental implants are an easy, permanent way to fill in your smile and make you feel happy with flashing a full smile.

So how does an implant work? Your dental implant specialist attaches a titanium rod to your jaw, which then acts like a natural root. A high-quality crown (cap) is then attached to the rod, giving you the look and feel of a natural tooth.

Invisalign ®

If you have mild crowding and thought about changing it without having to get braces; Invisalign might be the option for you. This process involves making a series of custom trays. They are made to be worn 24hrs a day to help guide your teeth into place throughout your treatment.

Orthodontics

Though both are considered Orthodontics, Orthopedics is usually initiated earlier in an effort to assure more favorable facial growth and jaw structure. Different influences act upon the developing lower face almost from birth and it is important to try to and counteract these negative influences early and allow for more normal development. Well timed functional therapy can have an astounding influence on your child's development often discouraging mouth breathing, poor sleep habits and a slow physical growth pattern. Functional orthopedics is usually therapy of short duration, may involve removable appliances and often makes more extensive therapy (braces) unnecessary.

Functional Orthopedics are a great way to help younger patients avoid many of the conditions that have plagued their parents, such as: poor sleep habits, T.M.J. pain, sleep apnea, small lower jaws (weak chin profile), protruded upper teeth (buck teeth) that my lead to poor self-image.

Orthodontics, more classically involves the use of braces that are bonded to the teeth. These braces allow us to control the teeth accurately so that we can fine tune their relationship to one another and create that beautiful smile. The end result must be preserved by using retainers. Dr. Kumar with your input will best decide if fixed or removable retainers are your best option. Why wait another day to take the first step toward straighter teeth and a more beautiful smile?
